This is the first half of the current JCPenney credit card application site. One problem that I saw was that this application does not adhere to the JCPenney branding. This application site appears completely unrelated to the main website, and overall might give off a phony impression.

This is the second half of the current JCPenney credit card application site. The most detrimental problem that I saw with this portion of the site was that it was extremely text-heavy. This could possibly intimidate a user trying to apply, and deter them from actually completing the application.

I started the assignment by identifying current problems with the site - as previously mentioned. In addition, I also took note of the company's branding and design regulations. After establishing the site's pain points, I brainstormed some possible solutions.

After the brainstorming phase, I created some low fidelity wireframes which would ultimately influence the final design. I decided to organize the required information into 3 tabs, emphasizing the idea that sign-up should be as easy as 1-2-3!

This is the first page of my final deliverable. I decided to group basic user information into one section called "About You." I put emphasis on fitting all the fields onto the screen from the get-go so the user doesn't have to scroll. In addition, disclaimers are there in an unobtrusive way so that it's available to read if the user chooses, but doesn't take away from the experience itself.

This is the second page of my final deliverable. On the left, the tabs update depending on which page the user is on. The currently selected option will be in red, and the user can easily return to a previous page by clicking on the respective tab.

This is the third page of my final deliverable. I decided to condense the terms and agreements into a scroll-able box that the user can read if they choose. This is an improvement compared to the previous design because the text is now less intimidating, and the "I Agree" box is clearly displayed.
